Novel Book

Is hearing one person's version enough to truly know a story?

A novel about how the very same moment can be remembered in completely different ways. Two women from one family. Two men from another.

Love.
And a young woman who knows how to stand her ground when everything falls apart.

Born and raised in Central Anatolia, our protagonist is a young teacher waiting to be appointed after two years of unemployment, feeling increasingly trapped by life at home. Online, hidden behind an anonymous identity, she has unexpectedly gained recognition. One night, a family she believes she has never met arrives at her door to ask for her hand in marriage—and nothing will ever be the same.

As we follow her, her aunt, her mother, and her father through their own inner worlds—hearing not only what they say aloud but also the thoughts they never voice—we uncover their place within a family story stretching back two generations. Along the way, we find ourselves asking one question again and again:

What would I have done?

Novel Book

First, the cities disappear.
Then the towns.
Then there are no villages left at all.

At one point, our driver turns to us and says, "There won't be another petrol station from here on. I need to make sure we have enough fuel to get to the base camp—and back."

We stop at a rusty gas station, the kind that seems to exist in the middle of nowhere.

I step out of the car and take in the moment.

I'm grateful to be here.
I'm healing.

Esra is an accomplished business woman whose carefully built world begins to crumble when the man she loves tells her he wants to leave. Heartbroken and with little left to hold on to, she does the only thing that feels possible—she goes as far away as she can.

Her destination is Ghana, where a life unlike anything she has ever known awaits her. Bucket showers. Rinsing off in tropical rain. Dust, chaos, hardship—and unforgettable adventures that slowly piece her back together.

But Africa is only the beginning.

What starts as a journey of healing takes Esra all the way to India, where she finds herself searching not only for love, but for the courage to rediscover who she truly is.
